Fig. 1:1 Ink Mess Starting Point

In the Ink Mess Starting Point I see a person who has lost courage and has given into fear. I decided to create a product that helps people learn what courage is and how to become courageous and also how to help others build up their courage. I thought long and hard on how to go about this and my only idea is to help teach this to people at a young age.

I am going to try and make an interactive children's book. I started doing research on how to teach children about courage. This week I just started to write a brief outline of the story and hand wrote them. I am still planning out how the book is going to be interactive and the book's layout. The ideas I have so far is to make notes for the parents reading the book to their children on how they can help and also what the instructions are for the activities to teach their children about courage. I will also include physical objects that come with the book to give to the children so they can play or interact with the story. This will include a sword, a bow and a shield.

The story is that Evan, a brave knight, takes three other knights (the readers/listeners) on a quest to meet five guides who will share their wisdom on how to have courage. After they meet with the guides they have to face fear and help Evan defeat it.

  1. I love this idea! Can't wait to order your book and read it to Shelby! What age category will this book fall in to?
