This week I drew the characters. To be honest I was a little bit worried about this, but I decided to take the advice that I want to give people about taking courage. Which is to just do your best and display your talents. I did some research on how I should try and draw these characters and I say try because I am still learning, so please don't be too harsh. 

I tried to draw the characters in a cartoonish way and also kept it a bit rough looking because that is more of my style and also my signature look.  I like this style because it has a freestyle feel to it, like I just drew how directly from my imagination how the characters would look like in this new world I created.

I also like how this is fitting for the story. Because I want to teach that courage can be to try your best and not really care what others think, because to be honest I was a bit scared to do this. But I wanted to be an example and take courage, to show that even though I am not exactly sure if these characters look good, I still drew them and tried to make them unique.

 These are still a bit rough and I'm still working on them. I might change their look depending on how I draw the backgrounds I will be putting them in. I am also still working on the narrative.

 The Final Product:  The last Blog entry 2020/11/04 This is the final blog entry. The final product is a pop-up book that is meant to teach and help children to find courage. The book provides this by having three guides teach them and they also have Evan the knight to lead them to each guide.  There are five guides: The Priest, The Historian, The Challenger, The Odd One and The Builder. All five characters have their chapter and stay there. Evan is the only loose character, to make it feel like that he is actually going with the readers and listeners on the journey. The ending leads them to Fear where everyone must work together to defeat him.  The listeners are given weapons to help them join in and feel like they are a part of the story and to help them engage with the story. Start to assemble the book: DO WE NEED HOLES?

 Start to assemble  the book:  DO WE NEED HOLES? 2020/10/30 This week I started with assembling the book. This week's prompt from the brief is "do we need holes?"  The answer is no. I was planning on putting in ring binders, but decided to just stick the pages together with clue.  I wrote in my previous blogs that I was planning on making it pop-up and I did. I found a good video by  studydiaryofalex (2012), who has an amazing tutorial on how to make an easy pop-up book (link in list of sources). I used the backgrounds in my  fourth blog.  This week I started assembling the book, I started by printing out the backgrounds, buildings and characters. Then I started to cutting them out. After that I started putting in the buildings and some of the objects in with the background they go with. The First Stage of Making the Creative Product  Courage! 23 September 2020 Fig. 1:1 Ink Mess Starting Point In the  Ink Mess Starting Point I see a person who has lost courage and has given into fear. I decided to create a product that helps people learn what courage is and how to become courageous and also how to help others build up their courage. I thought long and hard on how to go about this and my only idea is to help teach this to people at a young age.  I am going to try and make an interactive children's book. I started doing research on how to teach children about courage. This week I just started to write a brief outline of the story and hand wrote them. I am still planning out how the book is going to be interactive and the book's layout.
